New to Surf-mate?
Surf-mate is a filtering solution that lets parents decide what
they want their kids to see on the Internet. Installing it is
a proactive way of protecting children from viewing harmful
content online.
Its difference with other filters is that it not only blocks
porn websites, but also websites that relate to drugs, violence
and bomb-making. It is not limited to filtering websites in
English and French, but also in Spanish, Greek, German, Dutch,
Italian and Portuguese. It does not just use white lists
and black lists to determine what kids should and shouldn't
see. Instead, it uses a smart algorithm to assess the textual
and graphic content of each page individually and classify it
accordingly.
Its success rate can go up to 99%, which is enough to make kids
get the message that they shouldn't be surfing to harmful websites.
